One of the most talked-about moments of the gala was Jessie Buckley‘s acceptance of the Golden Globe for her role as Agnes Shakespeare in Hamnet. The actress could not hide her emotion, and her words of thanks to the Polish audience and the team working on the film were very warmly received in the country on the Vistula.

“Hamnet” – a drama that moved audiences and critics alike

The film ‘Hamnet’ is an adaptation of Maggie O’Farrell’s best-selling novel, which tells the story of William Shakespeare’s family tragedy – the death of his son Hamnet. The production wowed audiences with its depth of emotion, subtle direction and sensational acting. In addition to winning the main category, the film also won acclaim for its cinematography, music and screenplay.

In her statement, the film’s director, Chloé Zhao, emphasised that “Hamnet is a story about what is most human in us – about loss, love and the search for meaning”.
