Top Sopot Festival 2025: Technical falstart

The first day of Top Sopot Festival disappointed many viewers, especially those following the TV broadcast. The abysmal sound system became one of the main topics on social media. Internet users complained about the “dramatic” sound level, which made the artists’ vocals sound unclean and the instruments poorly audible.

Margaret and the controversial disco medley

One of the first performances was by Margaret, who presented a medley of cult disco hits, including. “September” by the band Earth, Wind & Fire. Unfortunately, the artist became the object of harsh criticism – not only for technical problems, but also for her interpretation of the songs.

Helena Vondráčková and Malgorzata Ostrowska – a classic that defended the festival

In contrast to the unsuccessful moments of the evening, Helena Vondráčková moved the audience with her performance. The 78-year-old pop star showed that stage experience and class have no age. She sang her timeless hit “Malovany jug”, which, as she admitted, even though it tires her out, she performs out of respect for her fans.

No less thrilled was Małgorzata Ostrowska, who sang, among other songs, ‘Melusina’. Her charisma, voice and style were recognised as the best points of the evening. Fans unanimously proclaimed her the queen of the first day.

Top Sopot Festival 2025: Styles and presenters on the plus side

There was no shortage of fashion excitement on the festival stage. Natasha Urbanska impressed with a daring black creation with a deep neckline and a spectacular sash. Her outfit attracted the attention of photojournalists and the audience, and she herself changed her clothes three times during the evening.

A humorous touch was provided by the hosts – Dorota Wellman and Marcin Prokop. Their loose, spontaneous comments defused the tense atmosphere. Prokop jokingly greeted his parents present in the audience, to which Wellman responded with a witty retort.
