On 11 August, a plane bound for New York was forced to return to Warsaw airport. The reason was information about a potential bomb threat on board. As it later turned out, the alert turned out to be false, but the incident had serious consequences for the passengers, including well-known influencer Michal Baron, known as Boxdel.

Boxdel detained, the police say! What happened at the airport?

An incident involving a false bomb alarm interrupted a Saturday flight to New York. LOT representatives reacted quickly to the potential threat. After receiving information about the alleged bombing, the captain of the plane decided to return to Warsaw immediately. All passengers were evacuated and airport and state services began the appropriate procedures. Among the passengers was the head of the Fame MMA federation, Boxdel, who is 29 years old.

Boxdel impersonation

It appears that Michal Baron, known online as Boxdel, has fallen victim to a malicious prank. YouTuber Nitro, or Sergiusz Górski, revealed on the X platform that up to 29 fake calls were made from Boxdel’s phone number that day, including one to himself.

They’re impersonating famous people again and the strange calls started like a few months ago

.

‘First I got a call from Boxdel, which of course was not Boxdel (I ignored this ‘joke’), but I later found out that more of this action happened today and with different content so be warned,’ he wrote.

It seems the scammers have used Boxdel’s number to spread false information, including the one about the alleged bombing

.

Police and airport services have already launched an investigation to identify the perpetrators and prevent similar incidents in the future.

Natan Marcoń on fake phone calls

Influencer Natan Marcoń also commented on the case, suggesting that more organised people were behind the whole action, rather than simple pranksters. His information suggests that someone called from a Boxdel number, using an AI-generated voice, and reported a false bomb alert.

The case is that someone called from a Boxdel number (there used to be such an affair with Wojtek Gole) with an AI voice to a number of people. They also called and informed about a bomb on a plane. There are some bigger cats behind the action and not kids who troll – wrote Natan Marcoń.

The fact that someone would use Boxdel’s number to spread false information is despicable. I hope the authorities catch them and put an end to this madness.
