Adamek ahead of Fame MMA 27: “This belt means nothing to me”.

Fight of the evening with former KSW champion

The Fame MMA 27 gala will take place on 6 September at the PreZero Arena in Gliwice – in the fight of the evening the gloves will be crossed by Tomasz Adamek and Roberto Soldić, former two-time champion of the KSW organisation. Their bout will be fought under boxing rules, with ten-ounce gloves, and is contracted for eight rounds, each lasting three minutes.

The clash was originally scheduled to be staged for the WBC federation’s special belt: The Fight for Peace. However, the organisers eventually scrapped this idea. This information had already been confirmed earlier.

“I’ve won the biggest belts”. – Adamek comments

One of the heroes of the evening addressed the change. In an interview with Fansport Tomasz Adamek admitted that he did not attach much importance to the mentioned trophy.

I won the biggest belts, thank God. WBC, IBF, IBO I had… For me this belt means nothing. Of course, it is some kind of a souvenir, but for me the most important thing is the show and I go to training with this in mind. To show the fans the will, the fighting spirit, because that’s what people remember for years, like those bloody fights of mine in previous years. Nokdaun, you get up, you keep fighting, the other one lies down, then the fans remember that you are a fighter. And that’s how I want them to remember me,” said Adamek.

A legend with a championship past

Tomasz Adamek has won the most valuable belts in professional boxing in the past. In the light heavyweight category, he reached for the WBC world championship, and in the junior heavyweight he was the champion of the IBF and IBO organisations. For many fans, the participation of such a titled fighter in the Fame MMA gala arouses emotions – especially that the “Upperal” himself emphasises that he cares first and foremost about showing character, not winning symbolic trophies.
