Cezary Pazura has once again proved that he has a great distance from himself and life. In a recent interview, he revealed that he has already planned... his own funeral. It wouldn't be surprising if it weren't for the fact that his tombstone is to have a screen and even a QR code! No one has ever had such a concept before. Find out what the legend of Polish cinema is up to and why his idea raises so many emotions.

Cezary Pazura about his own funeral – the actor’s unusual plan

Cezary Pazura, known for such hits as “Boys Don’t Cry” and “13th Precinct”, has decided to come out ahead. In a conversation with Kuba Jankowski in the podcast “Balance”, he talked about how he imagines his own funeral. It turns out that traditional solutions are a relic for him. Instead of a classic tombstone, the actor wants something modern, technological and, as he stresses, full of humour.

Cezary Pazura’s gravestone – a screen, QR code and… an advertisement on the coffin?

Instead of the usual photo, Pazura plans to place a small screen on his tombstone that will display excerpts from his iconic roles on a loop. It is meant to be a way for visitors to his grave not to cry, but to laugh and remember his achievements with a smile. Right next to the screen is to be a QR code, which, the actor explains, could lead to a gallery of photos, videos, memories or a dedicated page of his achievements.

Let everything be digitally accessible – such are the times,” says Pazura.

Cezary Pazura jokingly added that advertising on the coffin is not a bad idea at all.

Maybe Coca-Cola on the age? Or some kind of partner brand so the family has an income from it? – laughed the actor.

Although he says it with a wink, you can feel the preparation and a concrete vision in his statements.

Who will realise his vision? The family has clearly defined roles

In planning his funeral, Pazura has indicated that it will not be his wife Edyta, but his daughter Anastasia, who will be responsible for making the idea a reality. It is she who is to take charge of gathering the materials and ensuring that the headstone meets her father’s expectations.

The actor admitted that he does not want his funeral to be sad and pathetic. On the contrary, he wants it to be “modern, detached and tongue-in-cheek”. As he says, this way of saying goodbye is the best tribute to his life full of laughter and comedy roles.

A joke or a viable plan?

There is no shortage of comments online. For many fans, Pazura’s vision is a brilliant idea that combines modernity with the actor’s personality. Others think it is “too much” and question whether the theme of death has been taken too lightly here.

Although some perceive Pazura’s statement as a joke, the actor talks about it with such precision and commitment that one may think that he is indeed preparing something extraordinary. Especially since his daughter is already collecting archives that could be used in the realisation of this unique project.

I think it’s a bit too much. Funerals should be a solemn and respectful occasion, not a place for advertising.

I can’t decide if this is genius or just plain weird. But hey, it’s definitely unique!

I appreciate Pazura’s sense of humor, but I’m not sure if this is the right way to approach funeral arrangements.

I wonder what his daughter thinks about all of this. It must be a lot of pressure to fulfill her father’s unusual wishes.
