Jerzy Owsiak, the founder of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, is facing a wave of hatred and death threats. In an emotional Facebook post, he referred to the media coverage and harsh allegations against him, which have contributed to the spiral of hatred against him. Despite the threat, Owsiak assures that he does not intend to abandon the organisation of the upcoming 33rd finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity.

Owsiak revealed that he has been receiving specific threats for several days, including bomb threats and death wishes. The WOŚP leader accused right-wing media outlets, including Telewizja Republika and wPolsce24, of spreading hatred and manipulation reminiscent of the media campaign against Paweł Adamowicz before his tragic death.

If I don’t live to see tomorrow, remember who ratted, who filmed this unbelievable spiral of lies and hatred- Owsiak wrote, referring to the dramatic events of 2019, when the president of Gdańsk was murdered on stage.

Despite the wave of heckling, Jerzy Owsiak does not intend to give up running the foundation. The upcoming WOŚP finale is to support children’s oncology and haematology. Owsiak stressed that both he and the foundation remain committed to their mission, regardless of the difficulties.

If I live to see tomorrow, I and the foundation will continue to do our job.

In the face of incessant heckling and threats, Owsiak appeals for solidarity and reminds that WOŚP is a joint effort of millions of people who have been working for the benefit of those in need for over three decades.
