Sandra Drzymalska plays the role of Violetta Villas in the film Woodpecker and Violetta. The first photo from the set, just released, reveals that we are in for not only a visual but also an emotional feast.

Sandra Drzymalska as Violetta Villas

Sandra Drzymalska has been officially presented as playing the role of Violetta Villas in the film `The Woodpecker and Violetta’, which is directed by Karolina Bielawska. It is a production based on the relationship between the famous artist and her son Krzysztof Gospodarek, nicknamed ‘Woodpecker’ by her. The script focuses not only on Villas’ stage career, but also on the difficult and often painful aspects of her private life.

Sandra Drzymalska in full make-up – the first photo is impressive

In the published photo, the actress poses in a stage look reminiscent of Villas’ performances from her years of greatest fame – a storm of blonde curls, elegant make-up and a shiny dressing gown reminiscent of the singer’s iconic image. Sandra Drzymalska is known for her bold and diverse roles – she has appeared in the TV series Sexify, the film White Courage and the biopic Simon Kossak, among others. In each of these productions, she has shown not only talent but also the ability to play characters with strong identities, making her an ideal candidate for the role of Violetta Villas.

Love, addiction, freedom – the story of a mother and son

The makers of the film promise not just a classic biopic, but a profound story about the relationship between a mother and child, involving difficult emotions and dramatic choices.

It is the story of the most famous Polish diva in history, whose talent and passion took her to the biggest stages of Paris and Las Vegas, told from the perspective of her son – an unwitting witness to the star’s birth and fall. As he fights for his mother’s love, he loses out to her addiction to freedom, career and drugs. Paradoxically, rejection becomes his salvation, reports Kino Świat.

Villas’ relationship with Krzysztof Gospodarek was unique, often tragic. The film will show both the fascinating side of their bond and the tensions that grew with her mother’s fame.

Who else will appear on screen?

In addition to Sandra Drzymalska, the film will feature well-known and respected actors Mateusz Banasiuk, Dorota Kuduk, Jowita Budnik, Borys Szyc, Antoni Rembelski and Christo Szopov. The film is produced by Lava Films and international distribution will be the responsibility of New Europe Film Sales, a company known for promoting ambitious cinema worldwide. This means that The Woodpecker and Violetta has a chance to reach not only Polish audiences, but also important film festivals.
