The Eagles 2026 gala brought many emotions and high-profile moments. Tomasz Schuchardt, who won the statuette for Best Actor in a Leading Role for the film "Dom dobry", gave a moving speech. Check out who else triumphed at this year's Polish Film Awards Orły.

Eagles 2026: Tomasz Schuchardt awarded for best male role

Tomasz Schuchardt, Wojciech Samrzowski, Agnieszka Turkot – they triumphed at the Orły 2026 awards gala, the most important award of Polish cinema often referred to as the ‘Polish Oscars’. One of the most talked-about moments of the evening was the victory of Tomasz Schuchardt, who received the statuette for Best Actor. The actor was awarded for his performance in the acclaimed film ‘Dom dobry’, directed by Wojciech Smarzowski.

However, it was not only the award that attracted the attention of the audience and the media. During his speech, Schuchardt uttered extremely personal words that immediately circulated the internet.

Tomasz Schuchardt’s moving confession to his wife

When the actor received the statuette, he addressed his wife directly. He admitted that it is her support that allows him to realise himself professionally and artistically.

Schuchardt also emphasised that although film awards are a great honour for him, his children remain the most important thing in his life. As he pointed out from the stage, they are his greatest reward.

There were also warm words for the director, whom he humorously described as a man trying to hide his sensitivity behind a crude image. Schuchardt also appealed for a response to violence.

Eagles 2026: a great triumph for the film “Good Housekeeping”

At the 28th Eagles gala, the film “Dom dobry” triumphed, winning the most important statuettes of the evening. The production was awarded, among others, for best film and best director for Wojciech Smarzowski.

The film had already attracted huge interest – it received as many as a dozen nominations and was one of the biggest favourites at this year’s gala. The story, which touches on difficult social issues, received a strong response from audiences and critics alike.

Andrzej Konopka hosted the Eagles gala – there was no shortage of jokes

This year’s gala was hosted by Andrzej Konopka, who took on the role of host of the event for the first time. The actor put on a large dose of self-irony and industry jokes, which provoked many reactions among the audience.

In his opening monologue, he referred, among other things, to casting, acting failures and the behind-the-scenes of working in the film industry. There were also some minor mishaps and improvisations, which only lightened the atmosphere of the gala.

Eagles 2026 – acting and series awards at the gala

During the Eagles 2026 gala, there were also awards for series and acting creators. The award for the best series 2025 was presented to Agnieszka Żulewska and Dawid Ogrodnik. The statuette went to the production ‘Hevelius’, directed by Jan Holoubek and made for the Netflix platform.

Before announcing the winner in the best European film category, the organisers asked the guests to make a symbolic gesture of solidarity with Ukraine. In the end, the Eagle was won by the film Sirat, directed by Oliver Laxe. In turn, the Audience Award went to the production ‘Ministers’ by Piotr Domalewski, and the statuette was collected by the young actors starring in the film.

Not only Tomasz Schuchardt. Who won the Eagles?

The award for best leading actor was presented to Arkadiusz Jakubik, who appeared on stage accompanied by his dog Basil. As expected, the statuette was won by Agata Turkot for her role in ‘Dom dobry’. The actress dedicated the award to people experiencing domestic violence and expressed her hope that one day the story depicted in the film would be perceived only as dark fiction.

In the Best Supporting Actress category, the winner was Karolina Rzepa for her performance in the production ‘There are no ghosts in the flat on Dobra’. Receiving the award from the hands of Justyna Wasilewska, the actress thanked the director Emi Buchwald and her loved ones – both those from the film set and from her private life.

The statuette for the best supporting male role, however, went to Andrzej Konopka for the film ‘LARP. Love, trolls and other quests’. The winner was announced by Michalina Łabacz. Interestingly, the actor was also the host of this year’s gala and had previously joked that someone might have thought the whole event revolved around him. After receiving the award, he also spoke appreciatively of co-nominated Slawomir Orzechowski.
