Edward Miszczak and Anna Cieślak: Rarely in the limelight

Edward Miszczak and Anna Cieślak have avoided publicity since the beginning of their relationship. Although their relationship aroused interest due to the age difference, they both unanimously stressed that they have no need to explain their happiness. Privacy is their priority and public appearances are rare.

The meeting that changed everything

Their story began in 2019 during the closing of a film festival in Krakow. They were introduced to each other by a mutual friend and there was a quick spark between them. As Edward Miszczak recalls:

Piotr met me with my wife. And actually about two months after that meeting we were already closer to each other, and then there was our wedding.

At that time the journalist was a widower and the actress was ready for a new chapter in her life. Fate brought them together at the perfect time.

Love stronger than stereotypes

Although the age difference between them has been commented on many times, Anna Cieslak has never let the opinions of others influence her choices. In one interview, she said“It’s a misalliance, that big age difference? […] Of course it’s easier to judge others than to get on with your own life. If people have the need to do so, go ahead. I’m not in a position to say anything except that I’m happy. It’s others who have a problem with that, not me.The actress stressed that the most important thing for her is partnership and mutual understanding.

We are partners. We talk a lot, sometimes we argue because we have different opinions, and then I say: ‘I know you think that, but I think differently’. To which Edward: ‘Do what you think, and if you fall over, I’ll pick you off the floor’. Me: ‘It’s good to have that background’. I laugh that we are professionally but also privately like yin and yang, that is, like opposites attracting each other. Edward focuses on team building, I focus on character creation centrifugally. He thinks about how to tell the story, how to embrace the whole, while I think about how to give birth to a new identity.

The secret of their relationship seems to be maturity and mutual acceptance. They both understand very well that a relationship is daily work, but also a source of joy and inspiration. Anna brings an artist’s sensitivity to Edward’s life, he brings experience and calmness. Together they form a duo which proves that love does not ask questions about age and happiness can be found when we least expect it.
