Agata Młynarska has shared an extended post in which she criticises the current form of the Opole Festival. She recalls the times when she was actively involved in the event and talks about the achievements of her father, Wojciech Młynarski, who performed at the Opole event on many occasions.

Another edition of the National Festival of Polish Song in Opole is behind us. The musical event sponsored by TVP usually generates a lot of media coverage. Naturally, it was not without some misunderstandings and mistakes.

There were comments that the quality of this year’s performances left a lot to be improved. Agata Młynarska also shared her observations. On Monday, the journalist published an extended post in which she expresses her feelings. At the beginning, she recalls the time when she was actively involved in the event: A

Agata Młynarska talks about her father, who often performed at the Opole event. She reveals whether he would perform at the festival today

The other photos are of her dad at the Opole festival in different years. Wojciech Młynarski continues to be the most awarded author and performer in the history of the festival. The number of Karolinas, awards for premiere performances of songs, and audience awards are unbeatable,” Kaczorowska recalls her father’s successes.

I grew up at this festival – literally and figuratively

.

It was always an important point in the family calendar. Dad used to write ƒ “na Opoleƒ” – for himself and other performers. Always true to himself and his audience. He was fortunate that, despite the various twists and turns of history, this festival was first and foremost a festival of artists and not of government television – he goes smoothly to the point of the post.

He then goes on to sharply criticise the action of Polish Television:

As long as TVP’s Festival stage is more important for politics and the musing of the authorities than artists representing different eras and styles, worldviews, singing with different voices, a real Festival of Polish Song in Opole will not be possible. Over and above the divisions. And the incantations of Mr. President of Opole, quoting “Let’s do our own thing” or the naive or cynical exhortations of Tomasz K. will not help here.

Famous friends refer to Agata Młynarska’s post

I have a remote control and that’s why I don’t turn on TVP,” wrote Majka Jeżowska.

Bravo, Agata! – added Joanna Racewicz.
