She emphasises that every woman has the right to make her own choices – whether she chooses to pursue a career or dedicate herself to raising her children.

A carefree childhood without social media

In an interview with Plejada, Agnieszka Sienkiewicz confessed that she does not intend to give her daughters access to social media until they are 15. In her opinion, early contact with the virtual world can adversely affect children’s development.

If you give a child a phone that has the internet on it, nothing will ever be as interesting as that phone again. No talking to you, no playing in the backyard, because they will get a dopamine rush from scrolling on it that playing in the backyard will not give them. I mean, it will, if you take the child away and he or she rediscovers that he or she can climb trees and that is just as fascinating – the actress noted.

She also stressed that there are numerous scientific studies that confirm the harmfulness of excessive screen use. According to her, children are not yet ready to consciously use social media, which can lead to negative psychological and social consequences.

Actress supports restrictions for children

Sienkiewicz supports the increasing initiatives around the world to regulate the use of social media by the youngest. She mentioned that countries such as Australia and France have already introduced restrictions on children’s social media use and she sees this as a step in the right direction.

That’s why I won’t give my children access to social media until they are 15 and I think that’s the way it should be because it’s a huge detriment to children. In fact, Australia and France have already introduced this ban on social media for children and I think it is salutary and it is the only chance to save this young society from becoming totally locked into the virtual world – she stressed.

Should social media be banned for children?

More and more experts are talking about the negative effects of using social media at a young age. From addiction, to problems with self-esteem, to a reduction in real contact with peers. Agnieszka Sienkiewicz is not the only person to speak openly about these dangers. Does restricting internet access really allow children to develop better?
