Argument in a restaurant – children and smartphones as a flashpoint

In an interview with the author of the book, Anna Lewandowska revealed that although their family life may look perfect on social media, like any couple they also have more difficult moments. In particular, differences in their approach to raising their children can lead to tensions. Lewandowska admitted that she is more lenient with her daughters, while Robert is stricter on the subject. In one example, the coach recounts a situation when, while at a restaurant with a group of friends, she allowed her daughters to watch cartoons on her smartphone for a while to pass the time before the food arrived and give herself a moment of peace. Robert Lewandowski was not thrilled about this. He believed that children should spend time with adults at the table, not in front of a screen. In defence of his behaviour, Anna Lewandowska pointed out that Robert, being in the public eye, could not actively engage with the children in such a place without attracting the attention of other guests. The trainer admitted that although her husband is right to emphasise the negative impact of screens on children, it is not always possible to act perfectly in everyday life. Sometimes compromises have to be made in order to keep the peace. Anna Lewandowska summed up the situation by saying that in the parenting dynamic, where one parent is more strict and the other more understanding, she is usually the one playing the latter role.
