The information about the self-marriage ceremony was revealed in an interview with “Zwierciadło”, where Rusowicz talked about the motivation and details of this unusual event.

After the divorce, on 29 April 2023, I got married with myself. It was less than two weeks after the anniversary of the wedding I took with my ex-husband. I wanted it to be close to that date.

The self-wedding ceremony was not just a symbolic gesture. Rusowicz described how she ordered a beautiful white wedding dress from a seamstress and a signet ring with her initials on it, replacing the traditional wedding ring. The entire ceremony took place among loved ones, in the form of a circle, where Rusowicz said her handwritten wedding vows. In the interview, she also revealed that such an unusual event was a way for her to compensate for the years in which she experienced a lack of love from others.

I missed my mother as a child, who died in an accident when I was eight years old, and later also my father, who gave me to my uncle to raise. I have always been deficient in feelings, craving them, begging for love, and getting only scraps,” confessed Rusowicz.

Anna Rusowicz’s self-wedding ceremony certainly surprised her fans, and the singer emphasises that this unusual step was an important step for her towards fullness and self-acceptance
