Anna Starmach, the popular presenter and culinary expert, had a recent unpleasantness during a Pendolino train journey. It turned out that being a recognisable celebrity is not always a ticket to facilitation, and even a photo from the internet is no substitute for important documents.

Anna Starmach vs Pendolino control

Anna Starmach was travelling on a Pendolino train with her daughter, but the peaceful journey became stressful at the ticket control. The presenter realised she did not have her identity card with her and instead handed the conductor her daughter’s ID, which turned out to be invalid.

Trying to convince the conductor

Faced with not having the right document, Starmach decided to take advantage of her popularity. Instead of providing the required paperwork, she showed the conductor one of her photos available on the internet to prove that she was the person she claimed to be. Unfortunately, the conductor was not willing to make an exception.

I showed the gentleman my photos from the internet to prove that I was me, but you say that it doesn’t count because there has to be a document with a photo, not just

a photo…. –

Ania reports.

Anna Starmach and the blockbuster expedition

Despite the documentation problems, Starmach avoided punishment. The conductor suggested she use the mCitizen app, which allows her to confirm her identity. Although here, too, there were difficulties with the network, she eventually managed to activate the app and the matter was cleared up. Although Ania Starmach lives in Krakow, she often travels to Warsaw and other cities, and the Pendolino train is one of her means of transport. The recent trip will certainly remain in her memories for a long time.

I can’t believe Anna Starmach didn’t have her ID with her! That’s just irresponsible.

I understand that it was a stressful situation for Anna Starmach, but rules are rules and everyone should have their ID with them.

It’s ridiculous that Anna Starmach thought showing her internet photos would be enough to prove her identity. She should have known better.

I wonder why Anna Starmach didn’t have her ID with her in the first place. It seems like a simple thing to remember.

The Pendolino train seems like a convenient mode of transport. I’ll have to try it out myself.
