Barbara Bursztynowicz among the participants of the new edition of “Dancing with the Stars”

Anniversary season and exceptional cast

Barbara Bursztynowicz will appear on the dance floor of ‘Dancing with the Stars’, which will return this autumn in its 17th edition. The programme, which has been on Polish television for two decades, has acquired a jubilee character, and Polsat promises the participation of exceptional personalities. The already confirmed participants – who include Ewa Minge, Michał Czernecki, Maja Bohosiewicz and Tomasz Karolak – are now joined by a well-known and respected actress.

Back in front of the camera in a new guise

The decision to appear in the dance show coincided with the moment when the actress ended her long-standing adventure with the series “Klan”. Barbara Bursztynowicz, who had played the role of Elżbieta Chojnicka since 1997, bid farewell to the production in early 2024. The role brought her enormous recognition and, among other things, a Telekamera 2002 nomination.

Actress with stage credits

The artist is a graduate of the Warsaw State Theatre Academy. Her career includes numerous theatre performances, both at the Ateneum Theatre and the Comedy Theatre, as well as participation in Television Theatre productions. Audiences know her mainly from television, but she does not lack stage ambitions either – as she revealed in an interview with ‘halo tu Polsat’, she is currently working on an original monodrama.

I have to create it myself and that’s what I’m doing. We wrote such a monodrama with Jacek for me, many years ago, and there these emotions shimmer, indeed,” said the actress.

Her husband, Jacek Bursztynowicz, added:

‘It’s a monodrama about an actress, in a way a bit about Basia, and a bit about such a general character. A little from her biography, a little from our theatrical experience.

New challenges and new energy

Dancing with the Stars” will not only be a chance for a dance adventure for Barbara Bursztynowicz, but also an opportunity to present herself to the audience from a completely different perspective. The programme has been gathering millions of viewers in front of their screens for years, and participation in the programme is often the beginning of a new chapter in the career of the contestants.
