Joanna Krupa makes no secret of it - her school years in the United States were by no means idyllic. She reveals that she fell victim to bullying because of her Polish origin and hair colour. Even then, she experienced situations that won over the carefree youth for a long time.

A difficult start abroad

Joanna Krupa was born in Warsaw and moved to the United States with her family at the age of five. She grew up in Chicago and later in Los Angeles. Despite a seemingly good perspective, her school turned out to be a place where she did not feel safe.

Joanna Krupa: They threw eggs at me …

Because Polish, because blonde… They used to throw eggs at me when I was coming home from school. I remember having all my hair stuck together. I was so ashamed that I immediately went home to wash myself and only later told my mother. It wasn’t cool…

These words from Joanna illustrate the brutality and senselessness of the school harassment that was directed against her. Being different proved to be enough to make her a target.

Her sister also experienced childhood hell

However, this was not Joan’s exclusive story – her younger sister Marta also experienced difficulties:

I was humiliated very many times in my life – at school and outside school.

As a child she was invited to a birthday party – no one came. She moved to another school, but there, too, the harassment reached her. These experiences affected her psyche and the way she dealt with people.

Joanna Krupa: With humility towards a career and self-confidence

Although her school years were not easy for Joanna, today the model is fully aware of her own path. What she experienced in her youth made her stronger, and the experience of violence – although destructive – became an impulse to work on herself and build self-confidence.

A past that teaches empathy

Today, Joan is not only successful in show business, but also allows herself to speak openly about what she once experienced. In this way, she becomes not only a style or TV icon, but also an example for those who feel excluded. Her story is a reminder that it’s worth it to be yourself – even if others want to cast you outside the bracket.

It’s so sad to hear about the bullying Joanna and her sister faced. No one should have to go through such cruelty, especially at a young age.
