In an interview with Plejada, Cezary Pazura talks openly about his experiences at the beginning of his career and gives advice to his younger colleagues. He talks about the strangest whims of young actors.

The beginnings of Cezary Pazura’s career

Cezary Pazura is an icon of Polish comedy cinema. In 1986, he made his debut in the adventure film `Black Feet’, directed by Waldemar Podgórski. Since then, he has starred in a number of well-known productions such as Nic śmiesznego, Psy, Kiler and Ajlawju, and he became hugely popular with the comedy series 13 posterunek. Pazura also has extensive experience on the theatre stage.

Challenges of young actors

Cezary Pazura points out that the younger generation of actors are often more interested in the working conditions than the work itself.

I heard about one youtuber who came and asked to have ice cubes in the shape of teddy bears,” says Cezary Pazura.

The actor stresses that he would like young artists to focus first and foremost on how best to perform their tasks, rather than on the amount of pay and other comforts.

I would like the question

to

come

first in artistic professions

:

“what do I have to do to make it come out right”.

adds Pazura.

The actor points out that in the past, the priority was to do one’s best and only then negotiate the terms. Today, according to him, there is too much stardom, which distracts from the essence of acting work.

Edyta Pazura’s perspective

Edyta Pazura, the actor’s wife, has a slightly different perspective on young actors:

I think there are rumours about what is happening in the industry, because these are, however, people after graduation, who have finished their art studies and really care about finding a place in this environment and acting, because there is a lot of competition and the bandwidth is very low. I think to myself that it’s a bit of a stretch to have a young actor come in like that and the first thing they do is ask for a coffee and a wardrobe. They just want to act. It’s really sometimes hard for them to even get into that environment and just act, to show themselves to producers. I think to myself that it’s a bit impossible for such a person, who hasn’t played or played little, to come and ask: `but where is my wardrobe?

Edyta Pazura says that many rumours about the behaviour of young artists are exaggerated. According to her, actors and actresses often have to work hard to earn their place in the industry and not everyone comes to the set with exorbitant demands.

I agree with Pazura that stardom can sometimes overshadow the art of acting.
