The French estate, the summer home of the Nobel laureate, located in Saint-Remy-les-Chevreuse near Paris, was built at the end of the 19th century. Dominika Kulczyk, a well-known philanthropist and entrepreneur, decided to buy the house because of its historical significance. The property measures 120 square metres and is surrounded by a 900-square-metre garden. Kulczyk plans to transform the property into a `Sisterhood House’, a place honouring women scientists, where awards will be given to outstanding women in science.

We want to honour the legacy of Maria Skłodowska-Curie. The home of the Polish Nobel Prize winner is a property of all mankind and a natural meeting place for women who transcend all known barriers with their work. I would like this place to be vibrant again, serving European science and culture,” said Kulczyk.

Dominika Kulczyk’s real estate investments

Dominika Kulczyk also owns many other impressive properties around the world. In 2020, she purchased a 2,322-square-metre mansion in the London borough of Knightsbridge, for which she paid £57.7 million. She sold it three years later for a much higher sum. In addition, Dominica and her brother put an Alpine palace near the ski lift in St Moritz, Switzerland, up for sale. This palace is one of the most expensive villas in the country. Jan Kulczyk’s heirs also inherited the medieval Chateau de Madrid in the south of France, houses in Sardinia, London and Miami and the Villa pod Swan in Konstancin near Warsaw.
