In the spring of this year, news broke unexpectedly that Katarzyna Dowbor was leaving `Our New Home’ after a decade of working together. This came as a surprise to both her and her fans, who immediately expressed their support online, declaring a boycott of the show. Nevertheless, the decision did not change – Katarzyna was replaced by Elżbieta Romanowska. Now Dowbor shares her experiences from that time, describing how exactly her dismissal came about.

In an interview with Plejada, Katarzyna Dowbor talked about the circumstances of her dismissal. Miszczak was very direct in his approach. “Our conversation started with the words: “The station wants to say goodbye to you…“. – revealed the former hostess of Our New Home. Dowbor was surprised and asked for constructive criticism about her work, and he

had none. He mentioned some research whose results were not in my favour, but it turned out to be complete nonsense. A while later, it was published what the official viewership of `Our New Home’ was and it turned out to be higher than last year. So neither the idea for the programme was exhausted, nor did I slow down this train,” Katarzyna Dowbor told Plejada.

Although she has no grudge against Miszczak for her dismissal, she does not hide the fact that everything that happened after her dismissal was humiliating for her.

I felt humiliated not by what happened at the meeting with Mr Miszczak, but by what started to happen after

wards.

There were articles in the media suggesting that I lacked strength on set, was ill all the time and delayed work. These are lies! I never messed up. I have never put my private affairs before the programme,” she pointed out.

How Katarzyna Dowbor sees her dismissal

The well-known presenter indicated that she had a different idea for her departure.

(…) He could have invited me for an interview and proposed that I host four more episodes and then in the three-hundredth episode introduce a new host, hand her the baton and say goodbye to the viewers. If I were the programme director, that’s what I would do,’ Dowbor stressed.

However, these would not be the only changes. Katarzyna also had an idea for a new programme – `Our New Home. Powroty’, where she would visit homes after renovations. She thought it would be a hit. ‘Plus – it would be cheap to produce. One car, a cameraman, a sound engineer and a host would be enough. Nothing else. And that way we would avoid scandals and unpleasant situations. It would be good for everyone. – she argued.
