Edyta Górniak in chaos: “I’ve turned myself, cuckoo, into a cleaner”.

After years of living in hotels and flats, Edyta Górniak decided to rent a house with a garden. It was supposed to be idyllic, peaceful and finally “on her own”. The reality, however, turned out to be much less Instagram-like. The singer admitted that the enormity of the household chores surprised her more than any tour.

The situation is that I’m constantly cleaning! I’m cleaning and cleaning and cleaning, and it’s untidy all the time! I swear to you: I clean and clean and clean, I leave, I come back and I have to clean again because either a spider has gone bad, but ants have got on my banana….

Spiders, ants and a lizard – a house full of surprises

The singer makes no secret of the fact that running the house on her own proved demanding not only physically but also mentally. There were also uninvited guests – and not just any guests.

Forget the ants – today a lizard came to my house! What the fuck?! What does it want? I’ve got nothing in the fridge and what’s there is spoiled, so why did she come? What’s the point!

As she admitted, it only takes one short trip for the garden in front of the house to be transformed into a wild jungle:

‘All it took was a trip to Sopot and my garden turned into a clearing. Now I’m going to Opole, so when I come back, I don’t know, I’ll have a whole big meadow of bushes!

‘I clean more than I sing’ – an honesty we didn’t expect

Górniak makes no secret of her frustration. Although she’s not keen on using hotel maids, domestic realities are making her revise her previous approach.

So I ask you, people: is it worth not living in hotels? (…) But I’ve turned, ku…, into a cleaning lady – you get me!

This frank confession was met with a great response from fans, who appreciated that the artist does not pretend and shows life as it really is – even if it means dealing with detergents and dust.

Edyta Górniak: Tight but in her own way

Although Górniak admits she is not keen on vacuuming or doing the laundry, there are chores she enjoys doing – such as washing windows or ironing. She also humorously described how one chore can set off a whole avalanche of others.

I was washing the dishes and ran out of liquid, so I had to go and get another one. When I went to where the liquid is, there were bottles that I hadn’t thrown away for a long time, so I started cleaning up. I went to the garage to get a bag for the bottles, and there’s a suitcase in the garage that hasn’t been unpacked for I don’t know how many years….

As she points out – the story has no end.

A star with a human face

In this domestic release, Edyta Górniak shows herself to be an ordinary woman who – like many others – has to deal with mess, unexpected visits from lizards and an overgrown garden. Her honesty and distance from herself is something that is definitely needed more in a world of perfect filtered photos.
