Ewa Blaszczyk does not lose hope regarding her daughter’s comatose condition. She discovers a “spark of hope”.

Ewa Blaszczyk’s life story is an emotional account. In 1994, her daughters Marianna and Aleksandra, born from her relationship with author Jacek Janczarski, were born. However, six years later, a tragic incident occurred when Ola choked on a tablet, which led to her brain being hypoxic and entering a coma, which has lasted until now. Błaszczyk is not giving up and is doing everything for her daughter to regain consciousness. She founded the organisation “Akogo?”, which supports children after serious nerve damage. On her initiative, a specialist clinic “Budzik” was opened at the Children’s Health Centre in 2012 – the first such place in Poland.

Ewa Błaszczyk recently talked about the current progress in her daughter’s treatment in an interview with Live:

The treatment is a complex process, involving many specialists. We regularly compare diagnoses to assess whether we are seeing any changes. In Ola’s case, we are noticing small improvements, but we have to bear in mind that it has been twenty-three years since the incident. From a medical perspective, regaining consciousness after such a long time is considered almost a miracle.

However, the actress is hopeful that innovative methods can bring the expected results.

Ola is still with us and waiting. I follow medical news all the time. Although I am cautious about some proposals, I try to keep up to date with all the options available. For our team, genetic possibilities and stem cell therapy are a spark of hope,’ Ewa Błaszczyk stresses.
