Krzysztof Rutkowski is known for investing in real estate. In 2016, he purchased a palace in Szczepowo, near Głogów. Fascinated by the history of the palace, he planned to restore it. “The German resistance movement, the anti-Nazi movement, and the German colonel who used to come here and practically carry out the assassination of Adolf Hitler at the Wolf’s Lair. These are elements that speak for themselves. These walls have absorbed a great deal of heroism. They cradled children who went on to do great things. These walls have a soul.” – He explained to TVN. However, three years later he decided to sell the palace, which is now in a deplorable state.

The state of Krzysztof Rutkowski’s palace raises concerns. It may carry unpleasant consequences

The undeniably impressive palace has, among other things, 70 rooms and three banquet halls. It is surrounded by a spacious park with rare trees and two fish ponds,” Rutkowski described for the “Super Express”. Despite great promises of renovation, nothing has been done and the palace, which is a historical monument, is deteriorating. The structure of the building is so neglected that the windows are boarded up and the gates are closed. Apart from minor works, major problems, such as a hole in the roof through which water seeps into the interior, have not been repaired. The municipality decided to raise the property tax for Rutkowski, reports the portal glogow.naszemiasto.pl. Krzysztof Rutkowski did not explain why he did not proceed with the renovation of the palace. He only suggested that managing it from a distance was complicated. In the meantime, he has focused on his properties in Athens overlooking the Acropolis. The palace’s condition is regularly assessed by the conservation officer and is increasingly neglected. “His maintenance is far from the provisions of the Law on the Protection of Monuments”. – it reads. Rutkowski may be urged to take the necessary conservation measures. In February, the price he wishes for the palace – 10 million zlotys– was revealed.
