Alicja Janosz, winner of the first edition of Polish Idol, has surprised fans with her decision to retire from her intense music career after gaining fame. Although many expected her star to shine on stage after winning the popular talent show, Janosz decided to take on a different challenge. In a recent interview with Wprost, the artist opened the pages of her past and revealed the reasons for this radical change.

Career Boom and Sudden Silence

In the early 2000s, Alicja Janosz rose to prominence as a talented singer after winning Idol. Her singing captivated both the judges and millions of viewers, which brought her victory in the programme. After her victory, she recorded an album, but then unexpectedly disappeared from the media sphere. Nowadays, although she is still associated with music, her name is rarely on the charts. In an interview with ‘Wprost’, she talked about what happened after the climax of her career.

Music as the Source of Life

Janosz surprises her fans by revealing that, despite her lack of presence in the media, she makes a living from singing all the time.

For years, I’ve been hearing what happened to me because I’m not on TV… There are a lot of artists who are not present in the mass media at all, but they exist, they play, they have their fans,” explains the singer.

Alicja continues her passion at concerts and by conducting original workshops with children and women. For her, music has become not only a source of income, but also a way to pass on her knowledge and experience to others.

The pressure after “Idol”

During the interview, Janosz details the pressure she felt after winning “Idol”. She explains that although the experience was reminiscent of a Cinderella story, it was at the same time difficult and demanding for her.

I was the first person to be experimented on in such a situation,” she confesses in the interview.

The feeling of pressure and social expectations motivated her to reflect on her own life and priorities.

The artist eventually decided to withdraw from the race for the top of the charts in favour of personal development.

The cost of winning Idol was my feeling that I didn’t measure up.

Alicja Janosz decided to focus on what really mattered – her own happiness and sense of fulfilment. For years, she searched externally for this until she realised that the key to her own well-being lay within herself. Alicja Janosz not only reminds us of herself as an artist, but also inspires others to reflect on their own values and goals. Her story is not only about her music career, but also about her courageous choice to focus on her own development and happiness, despite the pressures of show business.
