Ilona Felicjańska has once again spoken openly about her path to sobriety. In her latest interview, the former model bluntly explained how she looks at abstinence today and why there is no room for exceptions when it comes to addiction. Strong words were spoken about relapses, working on herself and the support she got from her sons.

Ilona Felicjańska revisits painful past

Ilona Felicjańska has made no secret of the fact that she has struggled with alcoholism for years. The former model has spoken publicly many times about her addiction and what her road to recovery was like. This time, she returned to difficult memories in her podcast Plotek Galaxy.

In the interview, she touched on the topic of abstinence and made it clear that with an addict, there is no question of any controlled use of stimulants. Her stance was firm and left no room for interpretation.

She left no illusions. This is what she says about abstinence today

Host Marcin Wolniak asked straightforwardly whether a person after experiencing an alcoholic illness could indulge in a drink from time to time. Felicjańska’s answer was unequivocal.

Every first gesture, movement, glass, causes a slow return to the addiction and not to the beginning, not to the initial phase, but to the one when we finished drinking and causes a fall,” she said.

The former model stressed that addiction is a disease that cannot be ignored even after many years. She pointed out that it is crucial not only to stop the addiction itself, but also to work on oneself every day and follow certain rules.

Strong words about addiction. “Cancer of the soul”.

During the interview, Felicjańska used a very strong comparison. She called addiction a “cancer of the soul”, emphasising that although the development of the disease can be stopped, this does not mean the end of the effort. In her opinion, it is only through systematic work on oneself that one can truly return to a proper life.

Addiction can be stopped, but only the development and work on oneself can make us start living well and properly. In addition, we also have recommendations. Just like a disease, like other diseases, like cancer, you have to follow certain recommendations, and the same here. If you don’t follow these recommendations, you can lead to a relapse of this disease. And I don’t want to relapse anymore,” she confessed.

Ilona Felicjańska received great support from her sons

Ilona Felicjańska does not hide the fact that in the most difficult moments her nearest and dearest played a great role in her life. Of particular importance to her was the support of her sons, who did not stop believing in her even when the situation was very difficult.

As she admitted, their words became an extremely strong motivation for her to fight for herself and to return to the life they remembered before her addiction.

I am very grateful to them for never stop believing in me. The messages I received from them. “Mum, we are waiting for that mum we love. We are waiting for the mum we know, the one who gave us so much time and attention, who gave us so many memories.” Those were the kind of words that were my strongest external motivation that I would not give up,” she told Plotek Galaxy.
