Joanna Kulig, a world-class Polish film star, is not the only actress in her family. Her lesser-known sister, Justyna Schneider, also involved in acting, has decided to pursue a personal career path. Although both sisters thrive in the entertainment industry, Justyna does not want to be compared to her famous older sister.

Joanna Kulig, now one of the most internationally recognisable Polish actresses, is shining triumphs on red carpets and cinema screens. Her talent has been recognised in films such as Cold War and She Came To Me, where she starred alongside Anne Hathaway. Joanna’s younger sister, Justyna Schneider, has also chosen the acting path, although definitely less known to the public. A graduate of the Kraków theatre school, Justyna Schneider joined the Bagatela Theatre after graduation, where she gained stage experience. Her filmography includes television productions such as “Plebania”, “Zakochani po uszy”, “Diagnoza”, “Przyjaciółki” and “Na Wspólnej”. Outside of the limelight, Justyna is also a mother of two children and lives in Kraków on a daily basis.

Although both sisters rotate in the acting world, it was not always clear that they were related to each other, due to their different surnames. Joanna Kulig, after her marriage, decided to stay with her maiden name, while her younger sister adopted an artistic pseudonym – the surname of their great-grandmother, Schneider. This is a conscious decision to avoid confusion between the two actresses. In the Dzień Dobry TVN programme, Joanna Kulig explained:

Since our names sound similar, I decided to adopt an artistic pseudonym, the name of our great-grandmother Schneider, so that we would not be confused.

Although Joanna Kulig has gained international fame, her younger sister does not want to be compared to her

.

Both women follow their own career paths, supporting each other without jealousy. The younger Schneider believes that they each have their own unique path to walk and only want to be seen through the prism of their own successes.
