Celebrities are increasingly using social media platforms to connect with their fans. Katarzyna Cichopek regularly shares moments from her life, holidays or personal choices online. She also promotes her products there, for example her jewellery or cosmetics. Unfortunately, such openness carries certain risks. The photos can be used by fraudsters for dishonest practices. Recently, Kasia Cichopek experienced just that – her photo became an ‘advertisement’ for weight-loss products. One Facebook post featured a photo of the actress in a long blue dress, with a glass of a mysterious powder next to it. Cichopek immediately reacted by informing her observers: – Dear ones, be careful! It’s a scam! – she informed on her Instastories. It is worth noting that Maciej Kurzajewski recently found himself in a similar situation. It seems that the ‘Kurzopki’, as they are called by fans, have been having bad luck online recently.
