Although Katarzyna already had a son (Maciej Dowbor) from her first marriage, in interviews she often indicated that the second child was a more conscious and mature decision, and that late motherhood was the best thing that happened to her. Today Maria is a grown-up, 24-year-old woman. She went to study in the UK, where her initial direction of interest was towards philosophy and psychology. During the pandemic, however, she changed her plans and returned to Poland to study anthropology and sociology. Dowbor admitted in an interview that her daughter “has a talent for writing and is great at reportage”. The two women maintain regular contact and are extremely close to each other, despite their different personalities: ‘

We are from completely different fairy tales. We have different personalities, temperaments. I react very emotionally. And Marysia, like her dad, is very balanced, orderly. She always advises me: “Calm down, think first and then get rowdy” (laughs). Mania acts as a balm for me. I get pissed off, something doesn’t suit me, and my child says: “But mum, let’s think about it, maybe you can do things differently, maybe not from this side,” the journalist told Alina Mrowinska in an interview.
