Maciej Orłoś doesn’t feel like a pensioner

Maciej Orłoś has had a busy year. The popular presenter has not only married Paulina Koziejowska, who is 22 years his junior, but has also embarked on a new phase of life as a pensioner. Although he is formally retired, he does not identify with this role and remains professionally active. The journalist admits that he is aware of the passing of time, but does not want his age to affect his day-to-day life. In his view, biological age does not always correspond to how a person feels or how they approach life.

Maciej Orłoś continues to work on numerous projects and has no complaints about a lack of responsibilities. He emphasises that his professional commitments and new challenges prevent him from considering a complete withdrawal from active life.

The presenter has not held a permanent job for over 30 years. For much of his career, he worked as a freelancer and ran his own business. He therefore had to ensure, on his own, that contributions were paid regularly, which now affect the amount of his pension.

Maciej Orłoś had expected a lower pension

Maciej Orłoś did not specify the exact amount he receives each month from ZUS. However, he revealed that the pension had pleasantly surprised him and was higher than he had previously anticipated.

“My pension isn’t tragically low,” the presenter admitted.

The journalist suspects that the amount of his pension was influenced by the contributions he had paid over the years. These, he stated, were not among the lowest. At the same time, he believes that after such a long period of professional activity, his pension ought to be higher.

Even before receiving his first pension decision, Orłoś had anticipated that, due to his many years of freelance work, he might receive a benefit close to the minimum. Ultimately, the calculations turned out to be more favourable for him than his earlier forecasts.

Maciej Orłoś has no intention of giving up work

Reaching retirement age does not mean the end of the presenter’s career. Maciej Orłoś continues to appear on television and is developing his own projects. Among the projects that are important to him are the programme “Daję słowo” and the podcast “W związku”, which he hosts alongside his wife.

The journalist emphasises that he could not bring himself to give up work entirely. His professional activity stems not solely from financial considerations, but above all from a need to be active and the satisfaction that new projects bring him.

“However, I am someone who continues to work and I cannot imagine retiring 100 per cent. As long as I can, I will keep working. Not because I have to, but simply because I enjoy it,” he concluded.
