Pela opted for a design directly linked to his daughters — their childhood artwork, their signatures and shared memories.

His daughters’ drawings have found their way onto his arm

On the dancer’s arm, one can see colourful illustrations reminiscent of children’s artwork. Among other things, the signatures ‘Gabi’ and ‘Emi’ are visible, as well as family scenes drawn in a simple, childlike style.

The whole design has been created to resemble sheets of paper with drawings stuck to the skin. This technique makes the tattoos look very authentic and further emphasises the emotional dimension of the project. Pela made no secret of his delight with the final result.

Maciej Pela’s new tattoo stands out above all because it is one of a kind. Instead of a ready-made design, the dancer chose his children’s artwork, which gives the design personal significance for him and means it cannot be replicated in exactly the same form on anyone else.

Pela himself explained that this was an idea he’d been thinking about for a long time. In an interview, he emphasised how important it was to him to preserve the character of the children’s drawings.

These are the tattoos I’ve always dreamed of. Yes, these are my daughters’ drawings, their signatures, and pictures of them creating these little masterpieces. The girls’ figures are rendered in a realistic style, taken from photographs, and the drawings have been reproduced on a 1:1 scale so as not to lose the character and authenticity of these images,” he explained.

A symbol of family bonds

The dancer’s tattoos are not just adornments, but also a lasting memento of his relationship with his daughters. Pela decided to immortalise on his skin something that usually ends up in drawers at home or on the walls — children’s drawings, their first signatures and spontaneous creativity.

That is precisely why the project has attracted so much interest online. For some, it is an original tattoo; for others, a touching gesture by a father who wanted to keep an important part of his family’s everyday life close to him.
