Maciek had a great need to look for his own identity, and in order to do that, he had to cut himself off from me at some point,” confessed Anna

The decision to move out

Maciek’s struggle with his need for independence soon led to the decision to move out of the family home.

At the age of 16 or 17, he said he wanted to move out of the house. That’s when I froze. […] He made it to 18 and moved

out,” added the actor’s mother, pointing to a watershed moment in their relationship.

Advice for parents of teenagers

Despite the difficulties of raising a young person, Anna Markiewicz-Musiał has a piece of advice for other parents:

I always say ‘give him freedom’, then he won’t run away from you, he’ll gravitate towards you.

Her words emphasise the importance of giving your child the space to make his own explorations and mistakes.

Maciek Musial’s performance in Dancing with the Stars as a challenge

Anna Markiewicz-Musiał also had the opportunity to share her experience of taking part in the ‘Dancing with the Stars’ programme, where she danced together with her son.
