The release of the single `Baby Mommy’ came as quite a surprise to the singer’s listeners. It is not the typical emotional ballad of an expecting mother.

Baby mommy” is a sweet number in the literal sense of the word, because the idea is based on a frivolous play on words interwoven

with

borrowings from both English and Italian, such as “dolce farniete”, which means sweet nothings. The song was intended to evoke a kind of hunger for intimacy with another person, who is a sweet morsel for us,” Marina commented.
