Martyna Wojciechowska’s father has died

On 19 February 2025, Martyna Wojciechowska said goodbye to her father during an intimate family ceremony. Stanisław Wojciechowski, who celebrated his 90th birthday in November 2024, left behind many memories, which his daughter affectionately recalled in her post.

An emotional farewell

Martyna Wojciechowska does not hide her grief, emphasising that it is difficult for her to come to terms with the thought that she will no longer see her father and will not be able to hug him.

Even though I am 50 years old, when I came home to Izabelin, I would always sit on your lap like a little girl (although I outgrew you) and cuddle with you, and you would stroke my back and tell me that I am special and that I can cope with everything. And how much you loved me,” she wrote,

pointing out that her father, although normally regarded as a tough and disciplined person, was often moved in such moments.

Later in the post, the traveller recalled memories related to her father – from learning to ride a motorbike to working on the car together.

But, most importantly, you taught me how to be myself, to go against the grain even if others didn’t like it, you taught me to be brave and to be a free man. It is thanks to you that I know that the impossible does not exist,” she wrote. She

emphasised the great role her father played in the life of the family, especially for his wife and granddaughter Marysia.

Extraordinary personality and energy

She also stressed that Stanislaw Wojciechowski was a man with a unique approach to life.

I don’t think anyone knew you like that. Strict, sometimes zero-sum, a titan of work, you always had to be on the move, doing something. It was unthinkable that you would be late somewhere or fail at something. You were never sick, you never rested, you had indefatigable energy,” she recalled.

Despite her immense sadness, the traveller admitted that she also feels a sense of peace, knowing that her father had lived a long and worthwhile life.

I think to myself that it was already your time to go to the other side. That you had lived 90 wonderful years and you just needed to rest already,’ she added.
