Martyna Wojciechowska gave an interview to Viva magazine. During the interview, she talked about the most difficult period in her life, which she experienced a few years ago.

Martyna Wojciechowska is undoubtedly one of the best-known Polish journalists. She has been hosting travel programmes for years. She used to live a more extreme life, with rallies or climbing being her daily routine. However, a few years ago, tragedy struck. Martyna Wojciechowska brought back memories of those moments in her latest interview for Viva magazine.

Martyna Wojciechowska did not want to get out of bed. “I didn’t want to live”.

Martyna Wojciechowska opened up in a new interview and talked about the most difficult moments she experienced. In 2004, she worked on the set of the programme Martyna’s Mission. She was with her crew in Iceland at the time when a tragic accident occurred. She miraculously survived, but suffered a broken back. One of the operators, a close friend of hers, died on the spot. He left behind three children. Now Martyna Wojciechowska openly says that at that time she “suffered a collapse”

(…) I thought I would never get up again. I couldn’t come to terms with the thought that Rafal had orphaned three children. My back was broken, but I didn’t tell anyone that my psyche was broken. I saw no reason to get out of bed in the morning. I didn’t want to live,” she confessed,

at which point she was able to count on the support of her mother, who went with her to a sanatorium.

One day – I was still in a terrible state, in a wheelchair – the doctor said that I wouldn’t be fully functional again and that I had to learn to live differently. I heard that already as a young girl, when I underwent two heavy operations and chemotherapy, but then, in the sanatorium, something broke inside me,” said the journalist.

That was the turning point when Martyna Wojciechowska decided to fight for herself and her fitness

.

She told her doctor that she would climb Mount Everest next year. “And that’s what happened. And then I completed the Crown of the Earth project, which includes the seven highest peaks on seven continents. It was a struggle of its own,” – She said and added that the most difficult moments were the most groundbreaking for her.
