The frontman of the band Ich Troje has remained one of the most recognisable figures in Polish show business for years. His stage career, distinctive image and turbulent private life regularly hit the headlines. Wiśniewski has five marriages behind him, four of which ended in divorce. He is the father of six children, and the two youngest were born to his current wife, Pola. The 40-year-old herself also has four children from a previous relationship, and she has made no secret in the past that the day-to-day reality of a large family can be demanding for her. The musician had already hinted that their relationship was not free of crises and that they had sought the help of professionals.

Michał Wisniewski and Pola Wisniewska: Love vs. reality

In a recent interview, the 53-year-old artist decided to be straightforward about what his daily life is like with his wife. Although he stressed that he has strong feelings for Pola, he pointed out that functioning in a relationship with a widely recognised person involves additional difficulties. As he admitted, even full awareness of his partner’s past does not protect against a clash with reality.

In general, I love Pola very much. On the other hand, it is difficult to be with a person who is widely known. It is a difficulty. Not because of this past, because before you enter this relationship this person knows this past. Mostly with many secrets. It is known, not with all of them, because we always leave something to ourselves. But he knows a lot about you, because you try to eliminate these secrets at the beginning, so that there are no silly surprises in the course. It doesn’t change the situation that reality comes later,” he confessed in the podcast `In a Relationship’. Paulina and Maciej Orłosiów.

Later in the conversation, Wisniewski shared a more general observation about male-female relationships. He drew attention to a mechanism that, in his opinion, often leads to disappointment when one party believes that they will change their partner after marriage.

It is very common for a woman – this is such a classic – to marry a guy who drinks: “No, no, I will change him. He won’t drink with me. I’ll show him what family power is. I will change him.” So the information, dear ladies – well, no,” he said.

Father and head of family under pressure of duty

The musician also did not shy away from the topic of his role in the family. He admitted that although physically he is at home a lot, mentally he is sometimes consumed with the responsibility for the safety of his loved ones. According to him, men and women have different perceptions of presence, goals and fulfilment of duties, which is sometimes a source of tension.I am sometimes even at home every day. I’m just there, but I’m not there,’ he revealed, continuing: ‘

It’s how the woman perceives being and how the man perceives being. How the realisation of goals is perceived by the head of the family, and how the neck. (…) Me setting a goal, for the safety of my family, after many falls rebuilding the house, because I am responsible for this family…. (…) They have to eat, have a roof over their heads, warmth and education. They are realising their goal, I have to see this point through to the end.

A relationship with no guarantee for the future?

Finally, the most personal question was asked – about the sustainability of the fifth marriage. Wisniewski’s answer was far from hurrah-optimistic and devoid of bare-bones declarations.

Will this relationship last? It better hope so. But it is not obvious,” he soberly concluded.
