Natalia Kukulska’s relationship with her stepmother

Years later, the artist openly admits that her father’s second marriage was not successful. Jarosław Kukulski married singer Monika Borys, with whom he lived to have a son, Piotr. Although the composer hoped to create a stable home, Natalia Kukulska does not feel that this is the case.

Her dad was looking for love after her mum’s death. He even said of himself that he was a seeker. He was also looking for a woman who would create a home for me. It didn’t work out. He got married, but that marriage was the anti-model of family for me – she confessed in an interview with Viva.

According to Kukulska, her stepmother was not conducive to a father-daughter relationship, and the situation affected her own view of family.

Seeing my dad suffer, I had it in my head that my family and home could not be like that. For me, family is the starting base, closeness and a sense of security – she added. Her father and Monica Borys’ relationship ended in 2003.

Memories of her father

Jarosław Kukulski died in 2010 due to post-operative complications from an abdominal aortic aneurysm. Natalia Kukulska still remembers him as a man with a great sense of humour and uncommon charisma. The artist emphasises that her father tried to be a support for her and compensate for the lack of her mother.

He did everything so that I would not feel the lack of my mother, he tried to replace her for me.

Consequently, he cared for me with redoubled strength. He was a refuge for me,” she added.

Although her father’s second marriage did not meet her expectations, Natalia Kukulska still holds him in high esteem and considers him one of the most important figures in her life.
