Prosecutor’s office analyses the circumstances of the incident

According to media reports, the Warsaw-Zoliborz District Prosecutor’s Office is investigating whether Jeremiah Jez Szmigiel was led to commit suicide. Investigators are looking into whether the man may have been induced or supported to make the dramatic decision. The investigation began on 18 February 2025 and includes an analysis of available evidence and witness statements.

The Warsaw-Zoliborz District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw is supervising the investigation into the case of leading Jeremiah Szmigiel by persuasion or by providing assistance to take his own life on 15 February 2025 in Warsaw, i.e. an act under Article 151 of the Criminal Code. The investigation was opened on 18 February 2025, and an autopsy of the deceased’s body was ordered on the same day. The public prosecutor’s office will not provide more information regarding this investigation due to the good of the proceedings and the interests of the next of kin of the victim – informed the spokesperson of the capital city prosecutor’s office, prosecutor Piotr Antoni Skiba.

Ewel0na appeals to respect Jez’s memory

Ewelina “Ewel0na” Kubiak, one of the “Warsaw Shore” contestants, also commented on the death of Jeremiasz “Jez” Szmigiel. In her statement, she criticised people who spread unconfirmed information and speculation about the tragedy. She also drew attention to the wave of heckling directed at Jez’s loved ones, including his partner Oliwia.She stressed that ignorance of the facts should not be an excuse to judge the situation and appealed for respect to be shown towards the deceased and his family.

Who was Jeremiah Jez Szmigiel?

Jez Szmigiel joined the ‘Warsaw Shore’ crew in 2021 and quickly became one of the show’s most colourful characters. His charismatic style of being, sense of humour and openness made him very popular with viewers. He could be seen for the last time in the show’s 21st season in autumn 2024.At the end of December 2024, Jez informed his fans that he was struggling with ADHD.
