Paulina Smaszcz vs Maciej Kurzajewski – the divorce that never ends

Away from the media glare that accompanied their marriage, now Paulina Smaszcz has decided to step out of the shadows. In an interview with ShowNews, she revealed that she is still struggling to get her ex-husband, Maciej Kurzajewski, to pay his finances and settle his debts. Her words shed new light on their divorce, which has been going on for four years.

Many remember the excitement that was stirred up by the announcement of Maciej Kurzajewski’s relationship with Katarzyna Cichopek. However, the real storm is happening outside the spotlight. Paulina Smaszcz, the journalist’s ex-wife, is not about to let go. Her lawsuit against her ex-husband concerns a fight over money earned during their 23-year marriage.

I don’t wish him badly. I wish him very well. I hope in general that they will get married, that maybe they will have children. He is the father of my children, I want good for him, whereas I am fighting for one thing. [….] My lawsuit against him is related to the fight for my money. I have worked very hard for 23 years in this relationship,” says Smaszcz.

Their contact is now limited to legal action only, and as Paulina emphasises:

It’s been four-plus years since the divorce, and my ex-husband is still unaccounted for with me. I certainly won’t let that go for me or my sons, so our contacts are non-existent.

Honest settlement – Paulina’s only goal

Paulina Smaszcz emphasises that emotionally she had already closed the chapter related to Kurzajewski even before the official divorce. However, financial uncertainties discovered later caused their paths to cross again – this time in court.

I already had everything worked out before

It was my conscious decision and we parted really in a big agreement, only after a long time after the divorce things came out that happened before the divorce and during the divorce, but this is already being dealt with by our lawyers,” she explains.

Paulina’s virulent comments online

Although they are formally trying to sort out their divorce, Paulina does not shy away from making malicious comments towards her ex-husband. On her social media, she often refers to issues of trust and lying in relationships, which many perceive as stinging comments directed at Kurzajewski.

I know, guys lie. A lot of them lie. They lie so much that they don’t know what they’ve lied to whom anymore. I know it, I know it,” says Smaszcz, emphasising that her experiences with her ex-husband are universal.
