Taco Hemingway has once again surprised his listeners. Last night, completely without any prior information, his new album Lanterns Everywhere Long Extinguished hit the streaming services. The premiere came in digital form, and the artist did not accompany it with a traditional promotional campaign.

Taco Hemingway decided to release his latest material unexpectedly – the premiere took place ‘quietly’, without any previous trailers or marketing campaign. Fans were able to find the album online before dawn, which is somewhat of a contrast to the customs of the music industry, where releases are often announced well in advance.

Lanterns Everywhere Long Gone is Taco Hemingway’s first album since the release of his diamond album 1-800 Enlightenment. For the production of the latest material, he once again collaborated with a number of trusted producers such as Steed, @atutowy, Zeppy and Borucci, with guest appearances from rapper Livka.

Themes and inspiration behind Taco Hemingway’s songs

The artist’s new album explores reflections on modern human relationships, love and consumption, which gives it a more reflective, sometimes even pessimistic tone. As in his previous projects, the rapper also weaves references to the city into his lyrics – in this case Warsaw, which he treats as the addressee of his reflections.

Premiere and collector’s edition

Although the digital version of the album is already available, a pre-sale of the physical versions of the album has started along with its release. Fans can order the classic CD edition, but also a cassette tape with an analogue version of the material, which emphasises the stylish and retro approach to the release.

A few hours before the release, a photo of the facade of the National Stadium with the words “Lanterns everywhere have long since gone out” written on it appeared on social media . At first the phrase might have seemed puzzling, but it later proved to be a clue to the title of the material.
