Violetta Arlak, who celebrated her 55th birthday in 2023, no longer has much in common with the distinctive reeve from the Ranch's early episodes. What does the series star look like these days? Halina from `The Ranch' boasts an impressive makeover.

In 2006, when Violetta Arlak decided to join the cast of `The Ranch’, she immediately won the hearts of viewers. Fans of the series still nostalgically comment on the fate of her character, the village chief. Currently, reruns of the popular production are available on TVP1 on weekdays at 6 p.m. If viewers come across the actress on the street or see her in another new production, they may not recognise her immediately. Arlak no longer resembles the audience favourite Halina Koziol. She celebrated her 55th birthday in 2023.

Violetta Arlak’s transformation

It is not only the characters played by Violetta Arlak, whose film and theatre achievements are impressive, that evoke strong emotions in her fans. When discussing the Ranch on internet forums, they often refer to her metamorphosis. The actress once shed as much as 20 kilograms. How did she manage to do so? During an interview with Tina magazine a few years ago, she confessed that she followed a protein diet. At that time, she ate a lot of vegetables and avoided sugar and carbohydrates. In addition, she remembered to exercise regularly – she used a stepper, did tummy tucks (200 every two days!) and exercised with dumbbells. But this was not the end of the changes in her appearance. The star was previously associated with a storm of short blonde curls, which her character from the TVP series also wore. She recently showed off her shoulder-length straight hair with a fringe during the taping of `Chance for Success’. While ditching her curls, she also changed her hair colour to platinum with darker ends, creating an ombre effect.

Struggling with complexes

Even before her transformation, Violetta Arlak complained that her outer appearance did not match her inner sensibility, which bothered her. “I would so much like to play a romantic woman or a femme fatale. There are so many shades of femininity, and I generally ridicule female charms. Although to be honest, theatre satisfies me – I’ve played both Balladine and Juliet, more so in films and series my conditioning is limiting. What worries me is that in our country directors don’t have that American approach that you can do anything with an actor – it’s just a matter of idea.” –

If I hear that someone would like to work with me and cast me in a role, but my hair is too short, I laugh. Or that I’m too fat or too skinny for some production. I’m so sorry, but it’s not a profession anymore, it’s just building your closed worlds. The effects of this are that when an actor proves himself in one role, he already plays similar characters for the rest of his life and shows only one face, and when we meet him in private, we are surprised that he is a completely different person,” confessed Arlak.

Such pigeonholing for Arlak the cause of considerable complexes.

Privately it was probably a complex, but in the profession it is for complexes that I get the biggest compliments. So I had to like them and turn them into assets. After all, nobody is perfect!
