Pandemics, high inflation and the conflict in Ukraine mean that rising prices no longer surprise anyone. We have become used to the fact that we simply have to pay more for most products than we used to. Intimidatingly high receipts have become the norm. Last year, jagodzianki from Magda Gessler’s Warsaw outlet were described as “yeast cakes for the wealthy”. This year, their price has risen again and is now 28 PLN – the same as a lunch at a milk bar. It is worth mentioning that only two years ago it was 18 zł. Every year, therefore, the price goes up by 5 zloty. It is difficult to predict what the prices will be in 2024.
