During Tuesday's broadcast of Iga Swiatek's match against Donna Vekić, which took place in Rome, the commentators - Dawid Celt and Bartosz Ignacik - made a cardinal mistake. Both did not realise that their microphones were still active, which resulted in inappropriate comments reaching the audience.

Iga Swiatek’s match against Donna Vekić in Rome took place last Tuesday. The event was broadcast by Canal Plus Sport journalist Bartosz Ignacik and Dawid Celt, captain of the Polish women’s tennis team. During a break in the match, the men made a significant mistake, thinking their microphones were switched off. As a result, listeners received more information than they would have expected.

Bartosz Ignacik and Dawid Celt committed a gaffe

After one of the games, or set segments in tennis, there was a break. During this time, the commentators had a moment to rest and their microphones should have been switched off. Nevertheless, this was not adhered to.

What the fuck are you telling me, I’m playing these forehands wrong”

. –

These were the words from Bartosz Ignacik

, while Dawid Celt commented on two female fans in the stands, dressed in pink, describing them as „pink landraces”.

This is not the first such gaffe

It is worth recalling that this is not the first incident of its kind. Two years ago, during a tennis match, a similar awkward incident happened to Eurosport journalist Karol Stopy. The journalist was commentating on the play of Aryna Sabalenka during her match against Donna Vekić at the Tokyo Olympic Games. The commentator also mistakenly assumed that his microphone was switched off, which resulted in the use of vulgarities when speaking to his co-commentator.
